Meet the professor – Noboru Yamamoto, MD, Ph. D Head of the Ph I center, Department of Thoracic Oncology at Japan National Cancer Center Dr. Yamamoto is a director of the Department of Experimental Therapeutics as well as a head of the Department of Thoracic Oncology at the National Cancer Center Hospital in Tokyo, Japan. Having graduated from Hiroshima University School of Medicine in 1991, Dr. Yamamoto specialized in oncology, working at the National Cancer Centre in Tokyo since 1995. Developing his interest in early phase drug development, in 2012 he became a director of the Phase I Unit and the Department of Experimental Therapeutics. His current main expertise is the lung cancer chemotherapy, the early development of new anticancer drugs, and the discovery of biomarkers.
