Step 2 – Thoroughly Clean and Wipe Your Work Area Contoso Pharmaceuticals page 4

Step 3 – Wash your hands for 15 -30 seconds with luke-warm water and soap Contoso Pharmaceuticals page 5

Step 5 – Connect Medicine Ball 1. Alcohol wipe end cap of line (scrub for 15 -30 seconds) and release clamp Training Video appears on next slide 2. Connect saline flush onto blue cap and flush line (push/pause method) and then disconnect 3. Alcohol wipe end cap of line (scrub for 15 -30 seconds) 4. Connect medicine ball to line, remove clear plastic end attach to blue cap, release clamp on tubing of medicine ball 5. Place medicine ball in carrying pouch – should remain approximately at heart level during infusion period (medicine ball should not be placed below waist level) 6. When infusion period is complete, disconnect medicine ball from IV line from blue cap 7. Alcohol wipe end cap of line (scrub for 15 -30 seconds) 8. Flush line with saline (push/pause method) 9. Alcohol wipe end cap of line 10. Lock line with heparin (if indicated, use push/pause method), disconnect and re-clamp line 11. Dispose of supplies Contoso Pharmaceuticals page 7
