Implementation Questions: What We Heard From You 1. Federal Policy Development: “What is happening at the federal level about the additional work that the Feds promised to do on mature minors and advance consents? And more importantly WHO is doing that at that level as I know we are interested in giving feedback particularly on the advance consents? ” o We have received word that the federal government is developing approach for the independent reviews, which, as set out in legislation, must be initiated no later than 180 days following Royal Assent to the Act. Health Canada is collaborating with Justice Canada to develop a process to carry out the reviews. o There will be further discussion in the fall regarding these plans. o Feedback on the issue can be e-mailed to the Department of Justice Canada at webadmin@justice. gc. ca. 4
