Resolving Forces Resultants of multiple forces These three steps can be combined to find the resultant of a system of many forces, all acting in different directions. Eg. Find the resultant of the following system of forces by resolving horizontally and vertically. Resolving Forces Eg. ABCD is a rectangle with AB = 7 cm, and AD = 24 cm. Forces of 30 N, 70 N and 100 N act at A in directions AB, AC and AD respectively. Calculate the magnitude of the resultant force, and find the angle it makes with AB. Be able to resolve multiple forces into two components.
