No moving around too much or too fast No water, drinks, or food on table except for the ones in the Science containers. 6. Talk to partner before doing something. 7. No horseplay
Station 1 Using the pipette, add 50 drops of water to the graduated cylinder. Record the measurement in ml on your paper. TIP: Press the pipette gently and slowly so that only one drop at a time comes out.
Station 2 Measure the mass of the object. Record the mass on your paper in grams. Be sure to use the weighing tray to hold your object. TIP: To exclude the weight of the weighing tray (petri dish), 1. Push the power button of the kitchen scale (you will see 0 gm). 2. Put the petri dish on top (you will see a number). 3. Push the power button again (you will see 0 gm again).
Station 3 Turn on the water and let it run in the sink for 30 s. Fill the beaker with water and measure the temperature. Record the temperature on your paper in Celsius. TIP: Turn the water faucet halfway only so as not to have water splash. Fill beaker half full only.
Station 4 Each person in the group say your ABC’s and have your partner record how long it takes you to do so. Record the time in seconds. TIP: Make sure the timer is at 00: 00 before you start. The right button starts AND stops the timer. The left button resets it to 00: 00. Don’t touch the middle button (Mode button). It is easy to get confused with that one.
Station 5 Measure the length of the string. Record your answer in cm. TIP: Stretch the string out. Make sure you are using cm, NOT inches.
Station 6 Measure the mass of 30 ml of water. Record your answer in g. HINT: We want the mass of just the water NOT the beaker - how can we do that?

Clean up your station, dump water except for station 1 and leave it the way you found it. (This gets it ready for the next group.
