Measurable Property: A property of a physical system which can be compared against a standard unit of measurement to provide a numerical value defining the quantity of that property. There are seven measurable properties of waves: ● ● ● ● Velocity Frequency Wavelength Amplitude Period Reflection Refraction
Velocity: Is called speed, being a coherent derived unit whose quantity is measured in the SI (metric system) as metres per second (m/s) or as the SI base unit of (m⋅s− 1).
Frequency: The number of waves that pass a fixed point in unit time; also, the number of cycles or vibrations undergone during one unit of time by a body in periodic motion.
Wavelength: Distance between corresponding points of two consecutive waves. It is equal to the speed (v) of a wave train in a medium divided by its frequency (f): λ = v/f. λ= Lambda
Amplitude: The maximum displacement or distance moved by a point on a vibrating body or wave measured from its equilibrium position.
Period: Is the time needed for one complete cycle of vibration to pass in a given point. As the frequency of a wave increases, the time period of the wave decreases. The unit for time period is 'seconds'.
Reflection: Is the change in direction of a wavefront at an interface between two different media so that the wavefront returns into the medium from which it originated.
Refraction: The change in direction of a wave passing from one medium to another caused by its change in speed which is usually consistent.
The Relationships The relationships all of these measurable properties share all a unit of measurement in a way even reflection. They all small parts of what is interpreted. They are all what makeup measurable units.
Crossword!!!! You will have the rest of the time to complete this. THE END
