How do we count things of the house? Para contar los objetos de una casa, para decir “que hay” algo, existen dos términos muy importantes en inglés. • Estos términos son • THERE IS • THERE ARE
THERE IS Utilizamos THERE IS , para decir que hay “una” cosa. Es decir, lo usamos en SINGULAR EXAMPLE: • THERE IS A LAMP. (Hay UNA lámpara). • THERE IS A SOFA. (Hay UN sofá). • THERE IS AN APPLE. (Usamos “an” en vez de “a” cuando la siguiente palabra empieza con una vocal. )
THERE ARE • Utilizamos THERE ARE , para mencionar que hay “COSAS” en algún lugar. THERE ARE, se utiliza para mencionar DOS o MÁS objetos, personas o animales. THERE ARE SE UTILIZA EN PLURAL. • For example: THERE ARE TWO WINDOWS. (Hay dos ventanas) • THERE ARE 5 CHAIRS. • THERE ARE MANY BOOKS. • THERE ARE 10 OBJECTS.
THERE IS THERE ARE SINGULAR PLURAL There is a table in the dining room. (No olvidar el uso de A / AN ) There are four sofas in the living room.
