Welcome To MCINTOSH MIDDLE SCHOOL Mc. Intosh Middle School is…the BEST Middle School in the Universe! Mc. Intosh Middle School was founded in 1962 and is currently the only STEM A 2 Magnet Middle School Program in the Sarasota County School District. Additionally, as a Project Lead the Way school, we offer classes in Design and Modeling, Green Architecture, Computer Coding, Aerospace, Electronics, Engineering, Biotechnology, and more. We also offer the SSTRIDE medical preparatory program in conjunction with Florida State University School of Medicine and Sarasota High School. Through integrating the various STEM fields, in addition to the Arts and in-depth study of Agriscience, every classroom campus-wide benefits from rich educational experiences and exploration. The Mc. Intosh VEX Robotics team continues to compete throughout the State. In 2017 -2018 & 2019, our girls' basketball team was #1 in the county! Our Chorus earned straight superiors, and Band straight excellent’ s. Here at Mc. MCINTOSH MIDDLE SCHOOL Signature Programs *STEM A 2 Magnet Middle School Program: Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Arts & Agriscience – Nurtures students interests and gifts, and allows the discovery of new ones while soaring like an Eagle in this program devoted to biotechnology, environmental science, technology, the field of medicine, computer coding, and more. *SSTRIDE Medical Program: Students Together Reaching Instructional Diversity & Excellence – A unique partnership with Florida State University College of Medicine and Sarasota High School designed to provide experiential learning for students with an interest in the field of medicine. Hands on opportunities with physicians, medical students, and opportunities for real-life medical experiences while learning about the various careers in the field of medicine. *Hawks Academy for Gifted and Advanced Studies-Dedicated to empowering students to become high achieving life-long learnings who hold a special respect for the people and world around them. An interdisciplinary approach to learning. The focus is on environmental science providing rigorous and advanced courses of study experiencing hands-on exploration with inquiry-based instruction in the classroom, along with field experiences providing opportunities for students to engage in realworld problem solving through investigation. Students engaged in collaboration by connecting with business through career exploration.

MCINTOSH MIDDLE SCHOOL Signature Programs *Agriscience-Green Architecture & Fundamentals of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources. Students engage in hands-on activities to exploring a variety of plants and animals relative to natural resources. Students have the opportunity to participate in the Future Farmers of American (FFA) organization. *Engineering and Information Technology-Students experience Design and Modeling, Flight & Space, and Vex Robotics. Students engage in building testing and evaluating each mechanism and program each robot as they prepare for competition with the Technology Student Association (TSA). Students engage in rocket propulsion analysis, and computer coding which trains students to become future software engineers with great problem solving skills. *Business Tech Ed/Microsoft IT Academy-Students acquire skills and industry certification in Microsoft Excel, Power. Point, and Microsoft Word. Students receive high school credit. MMS students have historically held the highest pass rates in Sarasota County.
