MBOT Building the m Bot and how it
MBOT Building the m. Bot and how it works.
By the end of this session you will be able to: ■ Follow instructions and build your m. Bot ■ Identify the m. Bot sensors ■ Expeirment with the m. Bot sensors ■ Document how easch sensor works and how it adapts to it’s surroundings ■ Explore how scratch can be used to programme the m. Bot ■ Experiement how scratch can be used ■ Document how scratch works with the m. Bot
It’s alive! ■ In groups of two, you will be given an m. Bot and following instructions you will need to build your m. Bot. ■ Please be careful with the components of the m. Bot, as they are fragile and can break easily ■ Take it in turns to do different sections of the construction ■ I would like you to create a blog on the build, take photos, video the construction, but be inventive as to how you show the build.
Ultrasonic sensor ■ This measures distance and avoid obstacles from 3 cm up to 4 meters with the Me Ultrasonic Sensor. ■ Research how this sensor works ■ I would like you to document how the sensor helps the m. Bot to avoid obstacles. ■ Finding objects from around the room, build a basic obstacle course to demonstrate the use of the sensor. ■ Document how this obstacle course impacted on the m. Bot
Follower module ■ This sensor, allows the m. Bot to follow a black line. ■ Research how this sensor works ■ Using the map in the box, document how this sensor responds to this. ■ I would like you to have a go at recreating a different black line course and see how the m. Bot responds. Document this process and how well did it work. What changes would you need to make?
Wireless module ■ On your phone, download the m. Bot app and experiment with how the wireless module works. ■ Document this process and identify issues that could be found.
Scratch and the m. Bot ■ Adam will introduce you to how scratch can work with the m. Bot module and how you can control it. ■ You will need to create a blog to show you can do this? ■ You are to create a short movement for the m. Bot. ■ Document how you have done this and how this impacts the m. Bot.
