May 2002 doc. : IEEE 802. 15 -02/181 r 0 Conditional Approval Summary • The IEEE Std 802. 15. 1 -2002 was conditionally approved as a new standard by the IEEE-SA Standards Board on 21 March 2002. Editorial discussion must be added to the Introduction of the standard that points to the P 802. 15. 2 draft recommended practice for coexistence. The following is the currently planned editorial discussion that will be added: – "There is a body of generally available industry information quantifying the level of over-the-air coexistence between 802. 15. 1 and 802. 11. Additional information may be obtained from the Draft P 802. 15. 2 Recommended Practice on Coexistence which deals specifically with this issue. " • Note: We will also add a phrase that: – a) Gives an expected date for the approved document and – b) Explains that the approved standard would supersede the draft. • See note below.
