MAURY ANIME CLUB 2018 2019 School Year WELCOME

MAURY ANIME CLUB 2018 – 2019 School Year

WELCOME TO ANIME CLUB! • We’re extremely excited to have you this year! • This is our clubs 4 th year in existence and our aim is to make the club even better than it was last year. We know that in previous years leadership was “shaky”, so this year we hope to provide a club full of organization, accessibility, and well rounded activities. This means: • • Bi-weekly Fun Meetings Bi-weekly Streaming Sessions Parties More Activities Guest Speakers Large Activities Contests Active Social Media/ Interactive Calendars

SO WHAT ARE THESE BI -WEEKLY STREAMING SESSIONS? • Last year we received many requests to watch everyone's favorite anime, movies, and cartoons. • So to resolve this issue, we will be having streaming meetings for the weeks that we don’t have regular anime club. • This means: • Every two weeks we will be watching 4 episodes of two different anime, 2 episodes of 2 different anime, or 1 full length movie. • We will have a sign up sheet posted at regular anime club meetings • The anime titles we be chosen from the list at random • All showing material must be rated no higher than PG-13 and will be prestreamed

• Have fun events that leaves something for everyone: OUR GOALS FOR THIS YEAR • • • Gaming Tournament Art Sessions K-Pop Dance Sessions Jeopardy and other team games Debates Cosplay Contest • Be more accessible with social media (Discord, Instagram, Facebook, Remind, Google Calendar, etc. )

Gaming Tournament Anime Convention Meetups Neko. Con Group Admission SPECIAL EVENTS Panel with the ODU Anime Club/ Former Members Cosplay Competition Seasonal Parties Fundraising and Volunteer Events

RULES • As a response to previous confusion we have come up with bylaws to make the club run sooner. If anyone wants copies of it, ask Vice President Franchesca 1. Be respectful, calm, and courteous of others This is meant to be a safe place for all fans of anime, manga, and Japanese culture. Respect those around you, no matter their sexual orientation, race, or religion. 2. No Bullying In this club bullying is not tolerated, so please respect everyone's opinions even if you do not agree with them. 3. No fighting We are not here to fight, we are here to get along. Though we do understand that minor disputes do happen, but fighting will result in exiting from the club. 4. Have fun and try to step out of your comfort zone We encourage you all to talk and get to know each other. This is a chance to get along with others who like the same thing as you.

RULES • Control your voice • We share the library with others who need a suitable environment to read, study, and complete schoolwork. Please be courteous and refrain from screaming, yelling, etc. • Listen to what club leaders have to say • We are here solely to help you guys have fun. Please listen as we give instructions to make everything go smoothly and ensure that it is a safe, fun place. • No Cursing of Sexually Explicit Content • We shouldn’t have to say this, but we do… because we’ve had issues
