MATURING SPIRITUALLY IN ’ 21
Our spiritual life in Christ begins by being born again (1 Peter 1: 3, 23). John 3: 3, 5; Romans 6: 4 This spiritual birth implies that all Christians will be spiritually immature for a time period. “… grow in respect to salvation” (1 Peter 2: 2)
God expects maturity from His people (Ephesians 4: 11 -12). Out of season immaturity is rebuked (Hebrews 5: 1112). The body of Christ is designed, organized and instructed to be a fellowship where growth is encouraged and occurs.

Spiritual trainers, spiritual life-coaches. . . God’s goal: Mature stature that comes from being “filled up” with the fullness of God and Christ (Ephesians 3: 19; 4: 13, 15).
God causes growth, not men’s ingenuity, abilities or programs (1 Corinthians 3: 5 -7). Faithful servants of the Lord are vessels and instruments for growth. God is the Source and Root from whom true spiritual maturity attains the stature of the Beloved Son.

Without God life’s journey and achievements are all vain (Ecclesiastes 2: 10 -11). Growth is of great value when it is accompanied with fearing God and keeping His commandments (Ecclesiastes 12: 13).
