Maths We will be using the fluency, reasoning and problem solving approach, alongside the use of concrete and pictorial representations in our maths work. We shall be learning all about multiplication and division, area and fractions. English We shall be reading Journey To The River Sea. We shall be creating our own predictions for what happens in the story, diary entries, letters, thoughts and feelings of characters, character descriptions, explanations. We shall also be learning how to spell and use words from the Year 3/4 list and exploring new grammatical terms. Cross curricular writing We shall be writing explanation and diaries in our geography topic. Geography In Geography this term, we will be learning all about rivers. We will be learning all about the different features of rivers and research rivers around the world. . We will also be about how rivers are formed, what happens if a river floods and why rivers are so useful. We will also create a model of a river to understand how it flows. Art/Design & Technology In art, we will be practicing using a range of materials and artistic techniques to create pictures of rivers. RE In RE we will be learning about commitment and Lent. We will be learning about why this is an important time for Christians and the different special days that are part of this period. Music We will be learning about pulse and rhythm. Year: 4 Term: Autumn 2 Geography topic: Raging Rivers PE We will be playing football matches and working on specific football skills, such as running, passing and jumping, with the Stoke City coaches. Science We will be learning about electricity. We will be learning all about different types of electricity, appliances that use the different types of electricity and how to stay safe around electricity. We will also be making circuits and learning about conductors and insulators. Computing We will be using our Learning Resource Centre and using purple mash to about how to use spreadsheets,
