Today we will be looking at discrete data on pictograms. We will look at continuous data later in the week. The information here is important

By counting the number of faces you can see that: 5 children chose red as their favourite colour. 8 children chose blue as their favourite colour. Tell someone near you what other information you can take from the pictogram.

Now the pictogram is a little more complicated because each face represents 2 pupils. You now need to count in 2 s to see how many children picked the different colours. 16 children chose red as their favourite colour. What about blue?

What about blue? There are 5 full faces and half of a face. Half a face is equal to 1 because half of 2 is 1. So to work out how many children chose blue just work out: 5 x 2 = 10 10 + 1 = 11 How many children chose green?
