LOGIC BEHIND FACTS AND FIGURES why students make mistakes? Number pattern in calendar. Why negative multiply by negative a positive ? Division by zero. Percentage Difference between fraction and ratio.
WHY STUDENTS MAKE MISTAKES ? Students feel Maths is not interesting. I am weak in Maths (fear) Revise the chapters by watching solution. Is there any shot trick to solve the problems. Not understanding the question and start solution. Do not solve questions themselves and copy from a good students notebook.
NUMBER PATTERN
WHY NEGATIVE X NEGATIVE = POSITIVE ? Examples: 3– 3=0 2 x 3 =6 (-2) x 3 = (-6) 3 x (-2) = (-6)
DIVISION BY ZERO What is division: How many denominators do you required to make numerator ? Ex 12/3 means 3+3+3+3=12 81/0 means 0+0+0+----How many 0 s do you required to get 81? No answer So answer of division by 0 is not defined.
0/81 means How many 81 s do you required to get 0 ? There is no required so answer is 0 Hence , zero divided by any number is zero except zero because zero by zero is not defined. How many times add 0 to become 0 ? Indeterminate answer, not defined.
Percentage It is a fraction where the denominator is always 100. Per --- for every and cent --- 100 Example- 50% = 50/100
FRACTION A part as a whole Fraction is a number which is written like a division. ½ is 1 out of 2 ¼ of a pizza It shows a part of something. RATIO Ratio is a comparison of two numbers by division. 1: 2 means no. of one things to other things 1 pizza / 4 persons It shows a relationship between two different things.
