MATERIAL PROCESSING TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT Our Department: – Is an independent body in the Mechanical Engineering Institute; – History goes back to 19 th century, it was one of the first department established in our University; – The first Head of Department prof. Neilads was the first rector of the re-established Riga Polytechnic Institute (later RTU). Now it is his 100 th aniversary; – Staff is composed of 20 employees + students; – Most of the staff is involved scientific research activities and pedagogical work.
