What is AO 1? Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of scientific ideas, processes, techniques and procedures. On GCSE papers 40% of the marks are AO 1 Examples of AO 1 marks are: Recall of definitions Recall of methods from the specified practicals Labelling of diagrams
Importance of learning work Useful to make students realise how important it is to learn their work. Activity – look at last summer’s GCSE unit 1 FT and unit 4 HT papers and identify how many AO 1 marks students could access just by learning their work.
