Master Engineering Systems Track: Embedded Systems Focus of the track: From design principles unto embedded code
Track: Embedded Systems Goal: How to develop based on high-level abstract principles towards a physical implementation in embedded distributed systems Reason to develop this track: Bridge the gap between designer that stop after a high-level abstract design and engineers that understand the implementation at the level of microcontrollers with embedded software What type of professionals are needed in the field: Professionals that are able to ascend and descend the abstraction ladder between low-level physical hardware-oriented techniques and high-level design principles that are intended to convey the purpose of an embedded system or simplify the understanding of a complex system
Embedded Systems: Curriculum Modules: • Systems Modelling (15 EC) • Applied Control (15 EC) • Big Data & Small Data (15 EC) • Distributed Systems (15 EC) – see next slide Major project (30 EC)
Module: Distributed Systems Scope: design principles and hands-on practice for real-time distributed (control) systems • • • What is a real-time distributed system? How to control complexity or how to keep it simple? Global time: how accurate and how to synchronize Event- and time-based triggering Reliability and dependability Fail-safe and fail-operational; fault-tolerant systems See also: • https: //www. youtube. com/watch? v=9 y 4 M 1 Zu.
