Modern Living and the Marriage and Home • Our way of life may not be very conducive to a good home life – Entertainment and outside interests – Food and shelter found elsewhere – Recreation sought outside the home – Irregular hours discourage home life • Very few meals together Home is often little more than a filling station for humans
Marriage The marriage relationship was established by God Marriage is more than the union of two bodies – it is the union of two minds, wills, beings, hearts. Questions to ask BEFORE Marriage Does this person put spiritual values first? Will this person help me get to heaven? Will I grow spiritually as a result of this marriage? Is this person a member of the church? If so, a Christian in name only or in action? Does this person believe in prayer and study? Will he or she be a proper father or mother? Is this person pure in speech, body, and heart?

The Bible Teaches: God Christ Church (Body) Man Woman “for the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. ” (Eph 5: 23) “But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. ” (1 Cor 11: 3)
