Marozsák Hédi 7. a OLIVER TWIST Oliver Twist, or The Parish Boy's Progress, is the second novel by English author Charles Dickens, and was first published as a serial in 1837– 39.

In theatre On the 25 th of November we saw the performance of the American Drama Group about Oliver Twist in Uránia National Filmtheatre.

The story This story is about a young orphan boy whose mother died when he was born. Until the age of 9 he lived in an orphanage led by Mr. Wanblon. But when he once asked for more food (soup) for his friend, the boss kicked him out.

The story After that the poor little boy became a footman at an old house. But after two days he went away from there, because he hit the other footman. This is the story before he met Jack Dawkins, also known as the sly fox. Maybe this is the most important thing. There he met the nice Faigen, the beautiful Nancy and the drunk and rude Bill. They were all robbers.

The story He stayed there for a few days, but through an expedition he came to live with an elegant family. He lived there happily until the robbers found him again. Suddenly Oliver’s half- brother asked Faigen to find someone who would kill the kid. Faigen asked Bill about it and he accepted the “job”. Unfortunately, Bill, Nancy’s husband, was willing to kill her too, because she told two people about Nonx. The next day Bill died too. He hanged himself. But soon Faigen died too, because he was sentenced to death.
