“Faith Facts That Get Prayers Answered” Larry Cline – Hardin Valley Church Of Christ – 7/22/18
Make note of this. Faith that acts, and asks and endures gets answered.
God tells us some things that hinder our prayers: Asking incorrectly, (James 4: 3) Unconfessed sin, (Isaiah 59: 1 -2) Not praying persistently, (Luke 18) Not praying in faith, (James 1: 6 -8)
Faith that acts & asks & endures gets answered “acts” – we are taking it to the Lord “asks” – we are kneeling before the Lord “endures” – we are staying before the Lord
22 One of the synagogue officials named Jairus came up, and on seeing Him, fell at His feet 23 and implored Him earnestly, saying, “My little daughter is at the point of death; [please] come and lay Your hands on her, so that she will get well and live. ” (Mark 5: 22 -23)

All the reasons he could have given for not acting: Man of position – didn’t want to lose it! Concerned about dignity – Ruler in synagogue – need to be strong Don’t want to get hopes up & get disappointed What will happen
Never be afraid to pray bold prayers in faith! God wants them & invites them.
Jairus Acted! He met Him on the beach and fell at His feet
Do you act when something is beyond you? One of the purposes of trials is to take us to places of faith that we have never been before.
At times we: Realize we need to take action Know the action we need to take Get caught up in the moment & do nothing
Prayer can be just like that. Many people believe in pulling the cord but sometimes in the fervor of the moment don’t actually do it.
Faith acts… asks Faith
and implored Him earnestly, saying, “My little daughter is at the point of death; [please] come and lay Your hands on her, so that she will get well and live. ” (Mark 5: 23)
and implored Him earnestly, saying, “My little daughter is at the point of death; [please] come and lay Your hands on her, so that she will get well and live. ” (Mark 5: 23)
Nothing mattered except the petition he was bringing to the Lord!
You ask… “Do I have faith” Faith acts – Faith asks… earnestly, fervently with immense humility.
and implored Him earnestly, saying, “My little daughter is at the point of death; [please] come and lay Your hands on her, so that she will get well and live. ” (Mark 5: 23) Notice his confidence
And He went off with him; and a large crowd was following Him and pressing in on Him. (Mark 5: 24)
While He was still speaking, they came from the [house of] the synagogue official, saying, "Your daughter has died; why trouble the Teacher anymore? " (Mark 5: 35)
When it looks as bad as it can possibly look… will you listen to Jesus? “Have no fear, only believe”
From desperation comes actions… comes asking… comes a willingness to overcome.
38 They came to the house of the synagogue official; and He saw a commotion, and [people] loudly weeping and wailing. 39 And entering in, He said to them, "Why make a commotion and weep? The child has not died, but is asleep. " 40 They [began] laughing at Him. But putting them all out, He took along the child's father and mother and His own companions, and entered [the room] where the child was. (Mark 5: 38 -40)

The mourners only knew what they had always seen!
Never doubt in the darkness what the Lord has shown you in the light! Stop taking your cues from what’s around you… Keep Your Eyes On Jesus!
As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, And at the last He will take His stand on the earth. (Job 19: 25)
Do like Jairus Act – humble yourself & come to Jesus Ask – call earnestly on God Endure – believe & keep on going in spite of other’s doubt
