EUROPEAN FELLOWSHIPS GLOBAL FELLOWSHIPS Member State (MS) Associated Country (AC) • For fellows coming to or moving within Europe. • duration 12 -36 months for CAR • duration 12 -24 months for other EF Standard Panel (EF-ST) Reintegration Panel (RI) Career Restart Panel (CAR) Society and Enterprise Panel (SE) Widening Fellowships (WF) 8 scientific areas = panels Third Country (TC) • For fellows from Europe going to third countries (12 -24 months) and returning to Europe (12 months) • Transfer of knowledge, through a Return Phase to Europe is mandatory. • Total duration 24 -36 months
European Fellowships: specific panels IF- EF: Career Restart Panel (CAR) • For researchers who want to resume research in Europe after a career break • Career break : the researcher must not have been active for a continuous period of 12 months within the last 18 months IF- EF: Reintegration Panel (RI) • For European researchers or long-term residents of a MS or AC who want to return from a TC and reintegrate in Europe IF- EF: Society and Entreprise Panel (SE) • For researchers coming or moving within Europe who want to develop their research career outside academia, host institution from the nonacademic sector
A typical IF SUPERVISOR FELLOW PARTNER ORGANISATION HOST INSTITUTION INDIVIDUAL FELLOWSHIP IF Duration Secondment ≤ 18 months 3 months > 18 months 6 months Individual research project: trainingthrough-research under the direct supervision of the supervisor / key staff of the institution Hands on training: for developing scientific skills (new techniques, instruments, etc. ) and transferable skills (proposal preparation, patent applications, management of IPR, gender issues, Open Science, etc. ) Intersectoral or interdisciplinary two way transfer of knowledge between researcher and host. Secondments can take place in MS / AC Organisation of scientific / training / dissemination events, Communication, outreach activities, public engagement

Widening Fellowships (WF) Objective: to provide specific support to excellent researchers not funded through the MSCA-Individual Fellowships (MSCA-IF) call to undertake an individual fellowship in a Widening country* One single evaluation performed under MSCA-IF call Evaluation: Proposals are eligible for WF funding if: • submitted by a host institution from a Widening country • admissible and eligible for MSCA IF European Fellowships (EF)* • obtained a score of 70 % or above in the MSCA IF call but was not funded under that call • have agreed to be considered for WF call * Global Fellowships not eligible Member States: Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia Associated Countries: Albania, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Faroe Islands, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Tunisia, Turkey and Ukraine
