Support for two categories of researchers: Early Stage Researcher: Less than 4 years of research experience*, and without a doctoral degree ("pre-doc") Experienced Researcher: In possession of a doctoral degree or at least 4 years of research experience* ("post-doc") *counted from the time when the individual is entitled to embark on a doctoral degree Marie Curie Actions
Support for three types of mobility: Incoming: moving from outside Europe into Europe Intra. European: moving within Europe Outgoing: moving from Europe to a country outside of Europe – NB compulsory return phase of one year (fully funded) Marie Curie Actions

1. Apply for your own fellowship Post Doc level Marie Curie Actions
Post-doctoral fellowships for outstanding researchers For experienced researchers • In possession of a doctoral degree, or have 4 years of full-time research experience at the time of the call deadline • Fellowships of 12 to 24 or 36 months • Three types depending on the mobility of the researcher IEF - Intra-European Fellowships IOF - International Outgoing Fellowships IIF - International Incoming Fellowships Marie Curie Actions
IIF: Fellowships for top- class researchers from anywhere in the world to come to Europe to transfer knowledge through mutual beneficial research cooperation Objectives: • Significant advances in such researchers' careers • Acquisition of complementary research competences at an advanced level • Help attain a leading independent position • Building international research relations Marie Curie Actions
IIF Researchers: • International mobility to Member States (MS) and Associated Countries (AC) from a third country • Experienced researchers of any nationality • In possession of a doctoral degree, or have 4 years of full-time research experience at the time of the call deadline • Normally researchers with a more senior profile • Possible Return Phase for researchers from International Cooperation Partnership Countries Marie Curie Actions
IIF Mobility: • Applicants must comply with the rules for mobility: • They must demonstrate mobility from a third country • They must not have resided or carried out their main activity in Europe for more then 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the call deadline Marie Curie Actions
Ix. F Financial Regime Marie Curie Actions
Category 1: Monthly Living Allowance - € 58, 500 gross salary per ER / year x country coefficient (4 -10 years) - € 87, 500 gross salary per ER / year x country coefficient (>10 years) Category 2: Mobility Allowance - € 1, 000 – € 700 (family or not) per researcher month x country coefficient Category 3: Contribution to Research, training and Transfer of Knowledge - € 800 per researcher month - Flat-rate cost category Category 5: Overheads (and management) - € 700 per researcher month x country coefficient - Flat-rate cost category IIF Return Phase for expenses related to the integration of the researcher in the host institution Flat rate of EUR 15 000 per researcher/year during the period of reintegration up to a maximum of 1 year - Not subject to country correction coefficient Marie Curie Actions

Career Integration Grants (CIG) Marie Curie Actions
Objectives: • Encouraging researchers to establish themselves in a Member State or in an Associated country, for example after a period of mobility • The action is designed to provide researchers who have been offered a stable position and who are considering establishing themselves in Europe with their own research budget, thus contributing to the scientific success of their research career Profile of the researchers: Experienced Researchers of any nationality; must comply with the rule for mobility Profile of the host organisations: Universities, research centres, enterprises including SMEs etc. located in a Member State or Associated Country Marie Curie Actions
CIG Financial regime Financial support for a period of 24 up to 48 months (full time equivalent) for a professional career integration project presented by an ER in liaison with a host organisation in a Member State or Associated country The contribution is a flat rate of 25 000 EUR per researcher and per year to contribute to the research costs of the researcher at the host organisation Marie Curie Actions
Cofunding of Regional, National and International Programmes (COFUND) Marie Curie Actions
Objectives: • To encourage existing or new regional or national fellowship programmes to open up to and provide for trans-national mobility, as well as to reinforce international programmes • These programmes must run an open, merit-based competition for the applying researchers, and be founded on international peer-review Profile of the researchers supported: Researchers supported under the programmes co-funded in the frame of this action must comply with the definition of experienced researchers and of trans-national mobility Marie Curie Actions
How does COFUND work? • Funding bodies or organisations apply to the EU for funding • Fellows apply directly to the calls issued by the COFUNDed organisation • All calls published on Marie Curie Actions website Marie Curie Actions

Industry Academia Partnerships and Pathways In Industry-Academia Partnerships Pathways, academic and commercial partners propose a joint research project. Recruitment of experienced researchers brings new knowledge into the consortium. Recruited researchers enjoy the same income as Ix. F fellows Fellowships of 12 -24 months Marie Curie Actions
Initial Training Networks Objectives: • Attract and train young people to become researchers • Equip researchers with a broad set of skills that will match both public and private sector needs • Improve career prospects of doctoral candidates • Improve quality of doctoral training • Promote collaboration of academia and private sector in doctoral training Marie Curie Actions
Features Research training for Ph. D & first Post.
