Objective • Derive an action plan for implementing effective least-cost policy strategies to achieve a significant increase in innovative alternative fuels and corresponding alternative more efficient automotive technologies. • Investigate about 80 recently implemented successful case studies of pilot projects on alternative fuels and corresponding automotive technologies. • Recommendations on how to promote and transfer the most promising current initiatives to other regions.

Expected major results of the project Detailed action plan for practical implementation of policies for alternative fuels and automotive technologies. Overview of opportunities to switch to less energy-intensive modes in individual transport and an increase in energy efficiency of vehicles. A list of key drivers and lessons learned based on the comprehensive assessment of pilot projects and scenarios showing how to meet EU targets with least-cost for EU citizens.
