Mardi 22 mars Ce weekend… This weekend… WALT: to say what you are going to do at the weekend WILF: to use the future tense with “Je vais” (I am going to…)
Qu’est-ce-que tu vas faire ce weekend? What are you going to do this weekend? WHAT DO YOU NOTICE? Je vais écouter de la musicque I am going to listen to music Je vais jouer à la playstation I am going to play on the playstation Je vais jouer au foot I am going to play football Je vais jouer au tennis I am going to play tennis I am going to ride my bike Je vais faire du vélo Je vais faire mes devoirs I am going to do my homework Je vais regarder la television I am going to watch TV Je vais regarder une video I am going to watch a video Je vais dormir I am going to sleep Je vais faire des coursesas I am going to go shopping Je vais sortir avec mes amis I am going to go out with my friends
THE FUTURE (TENSE, THAT IS!!)
ONE WAY TO EXPRESS THE FUTURE IN FRENCH 1. USING THE VERB “ALLER” (TO GO)
STEP 1 – TAKE THE PART OF “ALLER” YOU NEED. STEP 2 – COMBINE IT WITH AN INFINITIVE. LET’S SEE HOW
JE VAIS = I AM GOING TU VAS = YOU ARE GOING IL/ELLE VA = HE/SHE IS GOING NOUS ALLONS = WE ARE GOING VOUS ALLEZ = YOU ARE GOING ILS/ELLES VONT = THEY ARE GOING
BUT WHAT IS AN INFINITIVE? IT IS THE WAY A VERB IS WRITTEN BEFORE WE DO ANYTHING WITH IT. THIS IS HOW YOU WILL SEE IT IN A DICTIONARY. JOUER = TO PLAY FAIRE = TO DO DORMIR = TO SLEEP
JE VAIS JOUER = I AM GOING TO PLAY IT’S AS EASY AS THAT!!!!! LET’S JUST SEE ANOTHER EXAMPLE
IL VA DORMIR =HE IS GOING TO SLEEP ONE MORE……
NOUS ALLONS FAIRE = WE ARE GOING TO DO OK LET’S SUMMERISE THE FUTURE TENSE NOW………………
TO FORM THE FUTURE TENSE YOU NEED : 1+2 1 2 + The present tense of the infinitive of the verb to go ‘aller' + verb that you want to use Je vais I’m going boire (drink) Tu vas You’re going manger (eat) Il/elle va He, she is going + écouter (listen) Nous allons We’re going Jouer (play) Vous allez you are going regarder (watch) Ils/elles vont they’re going Visiter (visit) SO…
AND THAT’S HOW THE FUTURE TENSE WORKS IN FRENCH.
