March 4 -8, 2019 Fourth Grade News What’s Happening Your child should have completed the chapter 7 Review Test/Study Guide over the weekend and had you sign it. We began it on Friday and many students had most of it completed already. The test for chapter 7 will begin on Tuesday and take more than one day for most students. Your child may complete the online study (Think Central) guide for extra practice on Monday and Tuesday night. We are also taking a math test over chapter 12, beginning on Wednesday. There is an online chapter review/study guide as well. The 4 th grade musical will take place on March 21 st. The school doors will open at 5: 45 and students will need to meet in their teacher’s classroom by 5: 55. The show is about 30 minutes long. Students should wear anything green and/or St. Patrick’s Day Themed. Language Arts: WE are learning about irregular past tense verbs and modal auxiliary verbs can, may, and must. • We are also learning about pronouns and their antecedents. Math: Your child has his/her chapter review test for chapter 7. Your child may also practice online for more practice (Post Chapter 7 Extra Practice). We will correct the study guide on Monday and begin the test on Tuesday. We will also be testing over chapter 12 -measurement. Reading: Our genre is narrative nonfiction. Our reading skill this week are cause and effect relationships, finding an authors point of view, and making predictions. Writing: We are working on narrative piece of writing. Things To Remember Tuesday is the Vocabulary Test for Unit 4 week 1 I am seeing a lot of not reading all of the directions, not checking over work before turning it in, and rushing through work and tests. Remind your child that this will affect his/her grades. I review all directions before each assignment and test. So listening is very important as well!
