" Early disclosure to the Working Group of patent information that might be relevant to the standard is essential to reduce the possibility for delays in the development process and increase the likelihood that the draft publication will be approved for publication. March 2007 doc. : IEEE 802. 11 -07/0379 r 3 Other discussion AM 2

March 2007 doc. : IEEE 802. 11 -07/0379 r 3 Other discussion AM 2 Tuesday • Should non-HT duplicate be considered an HT format or a non-HT format? – Is a 20 MHz transmission in a 40 MHz mask a complaint waveform? – Do we need to force ourselves into a binary decision? Can we propose a set of terms to resolve this issue? • Would a device that could send only non_Ht duplicate packets, would it be an HT-device? Would it be a legacy device? • While coming up with new terms may not create a lot of text, it might touch many sections in the MAC. – Should this be discussed in the TGn ad hoc? Submission 8 Jim Petranovich, Conexant Systems Inc.
