March 2002 doc. : IEEE 802. 15 -02/095 r 0 Relationship with Bluetooth SIG • In July IEEE 802. 15 sent a letter to the Bluetooth SIG (IEEE 802. 15 -01/349 r 2) recommending that the IEEE and the Bluetooth SIG work together on Bluetooth Adaptive Frequency Hopping • The BT SIG owns the BT specification. • The BT SIG cannot accept submissions from outside the SIG (e. g. from IEEE). March 2002 doc. : IEEE 802. 15 -02/095 r 0 Relationship with Bluetooth SIG • I proposed that the BT SIG submit a draft version of the AFH specification to the IEEE for peer review, and modify the AFH specification based on IEEE letter ballot comments. • It was agreed within the BT SIG Coexistence Working Group for the two organizations to work together it would be necessary for the BT SIG to submit a draft version of the AFH specification to the IEEE. March 2002 doc. : IEEE 802. 15 -02/095 r 0 Relationship with Bluetooth SIG

March 2002 doc. : IEEE 802. 15 -02/095 r 0 Relationship with Bluetooth SIG • However, the BT SIG operating rules only allows distribution of final versions of the specification outside the SIG. • The BT SIG has informed the IEEE that the SIG will not be able to submit the draft AFH specification to the IEEE. • The two organizations will not be able to work together on a common AFH specification.
