Map of divorce procedure (with procedure on measures for protection against family violence) This

Map of divorce procedure (with procedure on measures for protection against family violence) This presentation shows all procedural steps that, pursuant to the relevant legislation, a person initiating the divorce procedure has to take before her or his case is decided on the merits, including steps that alleged victims of family violence can take in a separate procedure in order to protect themselves before they get a divorce. Besides the procedural steps envisaged by law (the de jure map of the divorce procedure), it shows at which steps, according to attorneys often involved in such procedures, delays and other problems frequently occur, thus making the procedure potentially ineffective (the de facto map of the divorce procedure). How to use this presentation To see the most important rules applying to each step, click on the arrow next to the step. To see a brief explanation of how and why delays and other problems occur, click on the black field indicating where those occur.
