SWITCHprocure: What we do • The SWITCH Foundation Committee gave the Management Board the following remit in May 2012: – Set up a software licensing competence center for the Swiss higher education community. – Potential: approx. 60‘ 000 FTEs, approx. 230‘ 000 Students • Implementation – Customer needs and priorities are determined and bundled. – Negotiation and conclusion of framework-, conditions- and licenseagreements according to the priority list. – Promote the exchange of information. – If possible: consolidation of orders and extension to other goods and services. © 2015 SWITCH 2

Goals achieved so far 1/2 (Membership is voluntary) • Actual savings: approx. CHF 2. 3 mio/year • Microsoft – Campus agreement: Savings of approx. 14% – University hospitals kept education status – Data protection amendment – VDA amendment: Savings of >50% – Student option reduced from 1‘ 000 to 300 • Adobe – CLP contract (campus purchase license) – ETLA contract (campus rental license): savings of approx. 35% – ETLA contract (single desktop rental license) © 2015 SWITCH 3
