Goals for this Session: 1. Briefly overview the matrix 2. Assess our own center’s status (strengths and opportunities) 3. Set goals for our center 4. Create a plan to carry out those goals 5. Leverage the plan to realize opportunities 6. Plan for future assessment 7. Discuss uses of this approach 8. Do it all in an hour (micro-scale to full-scale)

Note: It is likely that different centers will be located in varying stages of development, but there may also be context-sensitive elements (e. g. , multicampus schools, special-focus units) that would suggest that a different structure, resource allocation, or program could also be effective. For example, it is not necessary for a CTL to be at the “Accomplished/Exemplary” level in order for it to be well-functioning center. A CTL may be effective at a “Beginning/Developing” level, yet seeking opportunities for further development. Each center will develop unique strengths based on its institutional mission, faculty profile, and student body.

Reassessment: After 1 -year mark, rescore and reevaluate. What progress did you make? What tactics have you accomplished? Did anything move in a negative direction? How much did you move the needle? What remains? Reminder: Don’t forget to report back to your stakeholders on your progress (and even your lack of progress)
