INTASC Standard #2: Learning Differences The teacher uses understanding of individual differences and diverse cultural and communities to ensure inclusive learning environments that enable each learner to meet high standards. Rationale: Encourages critical thinking about why I want to pursue a career in education, what type of students I would like to teach, and ultimately what positive mark I can, as a professional instructor, leave on society. Description: My personal philosophy on teaching and what type of teacher I aspire to become.
• Come from poor families and/or single parent homes • Have been or are victims of abuse • Undiagnosed illness • Can not read or write I have the tools to make a difference. I have the resources to be successful.
Learning cannot take place if EVERYONE doesn’t work together for the sake of the child. It may take friends, family, and the entire community to encourage a child to WANT to succeed. …Sometimes that can mean literally bringing learning to them.
