My angle with target audience • 25 -44’s • Mainly women, Edinburgh people with Edinburgh accents, interested in fitness, no particular marital status, upbeat and positive people • Forth One • Evening show slot • It is going to be upbeat, it will incorporate music throughout as a bed, it will be medium to fast in pace • Presenter led (probably male? )
My aim • Is to inform with facts and suggestions from experts • Is to entertain with stories that are relatable • To offer advice and tips to assist people in understanding how to make new years resolutions that are achievable, set them self up for success

Statistics • January is the most popular month for joining a gym, with almost 12 per cent of memberships taken out. • But the Fitness Industry Association said that almost 22 per cent of people who join will have thrown in the towel after 24 weeks. A further 20 per cent will disappear before December. • In a nation with at least 4. 3 million private gym members paying £ 40 to £ 105 a month, it suggests that about 630, 000 people could be paying for a failed New Year resolution over the coming months. • 92% of people fail at their new years resolutions
Interviewees • Sally Struth’s successful experience of setting a gym goal, aged 27, live and have gym membership in Edinburgh • Katherine Adam’s failed experience of setting a gym goal, aged 21, live and have gym membership in Edinburgh • Pure Gym Edinburgh Personal trainer Carlo, 36 • Pure Gym Manager at Ocean Terminal Steve, 30
Sounds to be included • Music that inspires exercise or fitness • New and older…. ‘satisfaction’ Benny Benassi ‘eye of the tiger’ Katy Perry version ‘I like to move it, move it’ Madagascar, Will I AM • New year sounds, fireworks and cheering, count down
Magazine programme • Umbrella topic- Edinburgh • All my interviews are conducted with Edinburgh people and an Edinburgh gym, all relevant to magazine programme (Edinburgh) and topic is relevant to radio show (Forth 1) and target audience • Target Audience are mainly women and have busy lives, exercise and fitness are relevant to this audience and can be successful and unsuccessful in reaching goals with busy lifes • Other topics that will be covered are ‘trams’, ‘homelessness’, ‘concerts venues in Edinburgh’, ‘new bridge from Rosyth into Edinburgh’ all with the interviews and topics related to and in Edinburgh
Show that inspires me • Forth 1 Boogie in the morning, ‘wotsit’ (8: 14 am) Monday-Friday • It is interactive, listeners can be guests in game show and listeners in car and at home can get involved guessing answers • It is fun and light hearted, also gets you thinking and questioning • It also has a play against women and who is the superior, more knowledgeable gender • It is broadcast live and presenters seem to have lots of fun, speaking to guests and becoming competitive for their male or female side/team
How the magazine program will be similar • There will be listener feedback and involvement through twitter and face book • The show will be light hearted and fun with topics that are informative but upbeat • The guest that will be on the show will support the listenership with a interview segment • There will be a mix of female and male broadcasters on the program allowing for a play on effect of males vs. females
