Q Magazine • Q magazine is a highly popular music magazine for most ages. However considering the artists they choose to put on the front cover, may target different audiences. • On the cover I have chosen, Chris Martin (Coldplay) is looking mad and excitable. This look may appeal more to a younger audience. However as Coldplay is an all-round favourite, most people would be interested. • Q aims their magazines at an older audience e. g. people in their 40 s, however it seems that women aren’t as interested in it as men are. This may be down to the number of male artists on the covers.

Vogue Magazine • Vogue is typically a women’s fashion/lifestyle magazine aimed at females in their late 20 s/30 s • The image to the right show the statistics as to who reads it, regarding gender and age. • With Adele being on the front cover, it will generally appeal to women as she can be seen as an individual who is inspirational and a ‘strong, independent women’ who has done very well. • Vogue also includes images of young females e. g. Kendall Jenner, who are very popular at the moment among late teens and early 20 s, so that may attract that audience.

Top of the Pops • • Top of the pops is a magazine aimed at children from round 6 -12. The covers include artists and other famous people of which are popular with the younger generation. The cover also stands out with the bright clashing colours like pink and yellow, which will catch a young persons eye. ‘Zoella’ is very popular among the younger years. She posts videos of herself with other people or her daily life on You. Tube. She currently has over 10 million subscribers from all over the world. Lots of people can relate to her and so admire her. This will make her fans buy this magazine as they may want to know more. Other artists such as Five Seconds of Summer and The Vamps will appeal to young people as they create catchy pop music and they may find them attractive.

NME • It is a British music magazine which was founded in 1949. It is based around indie and rock music which appeals to mostly young adults. Another reason it appeals to younger people is that it was also launched as an online version as well as an actual copy. • The people they use on the front cover e. g. The Arctic Monkeys would appeal to people from the ages of 16 -50 as they were formed in 2002 and they have quite alternative music which is highly popular.
