Fragrance Advertisements are known for being over the top and dramatic. Many times it’s hard to tell what they’re selling until the very end of the commercial. Instead of promoting the product directly they attempt to sell you on a lifestyle or feeling. This commercial seems to promote the feeling of “freedom” or being “wild”. Dior is essentially suggesting to the viewer that their product will make you feel the same way. On the next few slides you will see several print versions of Fragrance advertisements.

Design Similarities ● ● The product (perfume bottle) is in front of all other images. It is the main focus. The Model/Celebrity is generally in a dramatic or serious pose. The eyes are usually focused on the product. An open background, in this case usually a landscape. Relates to the product or brand in some way. The product name is large and easily visible.

Using the same design style and aesthetics as the fragrance examples we just discussed, create a magazine advertisement for the item you choose. Get images of people from pixabay or google. Look for large images with high quality resolution. For backgrounds and other elements you can use pixabay and google.
