Wedge • • A wedge is used to separate two objects. It is a kind of incline plane. An everyday wedge is a hammer or axe. A short wedge with a large angle makes the job faster but uses more force then a long wedge with a short angle. TOC

Incline Plane • An incline plane (also known as a ramp) helps lift things higher. • Mechanical Advantage: It reduces the force used to lift the object. • An incline plane is a wedge cut in half. TOC

Screw • A screw can convert forces to get bigger or smaller • Machanical Advantage- circumference of the shaft divided the distance between serfaces. TOC
