Machine Design Control Picture of code Angela Dang, Janelle Nelson, Bryson Marshall Manvel High School Methods Abstract On a very nice and sunny day our instructor decided to give us this amazing problem so that we would use our brain instead of frying our brain in this Texas heat. Our problem that she gave us stated “A telecommunications contractor needs your team to design a device that accurately wind up a specific length of cable. This device must be able to wind a specific length consistently. The device must also be able to start and stopped (emergency) by using a switch. ” With information we gather for a week to construct and program a device to present to the class. Introduction The design brief of this project was to have a problem, know what you can or cannot do. From that come up with different possibility and solutions, then narrow it down. Have one solution that you will build up program in a final drawing. This will all be leading to a presentation to your instructor and peers. 1. Get in groups, get to know your group members. 2. Get called by instructor to receive your problem and constraints. 3. With your group members discuss and brainstorm your problem. 4. Physically draw out groups ideas and brainstorm with labeling. 5. Create and test group design, once done and perfected present to the class your creation. Picture of sketch that your group selected. This should be one of the two drawings that you completed Discussion Picture of Machine This project has teach me a lot of things like patience and communicating. Something I thought I once had but was not very perfected. Patience for coding and my drawing not being the way my instructor wants it to be, it’s not well presented. Communicating, Not giving enough information in the drawing or procedures.
