Inverness Castle – where Duncan spent the night with Macbeth – rebuilt in the 1800 s. A castle has stood on the land since the 1100 s.
� According to tradition, the castle where Duncan was murdered was torn down in retaliation of Macbeth’s actions and rebuilt later. The current castle is a rebuilding of that castle.
� Gatehouse of the castle at Fife, owned by Clan Mac. Duff. It is called Falkland Castle. It was built in the 1500 s.

The original Mac. Duff Castle – seems to have been built sometime before 1300 and used until the castle at Falkland took its place. Mac. Duff’s descendants lost the castle and title after a war in Scotland – they sided with the losing king. Clan Mac. Duff has no clan leader right now.
