Finding Quotations � Find a quotation from the following stages in the story- � Macbeth � Macbeth as the noble warrior not wishing to kill Duncan being consumed by ambition losing his mind to guilt regaining a little credibility in death.
Macbeth as the noble warrior � “brave name. ” � Who Macbeth… well he deserves that says this about Macbeth? � Why? � What are our first impressions of his character?
Macbeth not wishing to kill Duncan � “as his host, who should against his murderer shut the door” � Why is Macbeth struggling with his conscience? � Who persuades Macbeth to act out the murder? � What does this tell us about his character?
Macbeth being consumed by ambition � “stars hide your fires/ let not light see my black and deep desires” � Why does Macbeth want to conceal his ambition? � What is his main ambition? � What will de do to achieve it? � What do we think about himat this point?
Macbeth losing his mind to guilt � “some say he’s mad; others that lesser hate him do call it valiant fury. ” � Why is Macbeth acting erratically? � What do his subjects think of him? � What do they begin to do? � What do we think of him at this point?
