Meet Erica: As a senior in high school I shadowed a wedding coordinator and fell in love with weddings! I moved to Costa Rica for a year following graduation, which is where I met my now husband. I went to college for about a semester and then I ended up getting sick with stage 2 kidney failure, so I had to medically withdraw. I got engaged and my mother and I planned my wedding and it was so fun! I got married at the age of 20 on June 1 st, 2013 and got a full time job as a purchasing agent for Property Masters. I never went back to school because I was not sure what I wanted to study. In October of 2015 my now sister-in-law asked me to be the day-of coordinator for her destination wedding in Florida. I was hesitant at first because I had never done it before, but I said I would, and I am so glad I did. Little did I know, that would be the start of my career in wedding planning. In January of 2016 I enrolled online for my wedding planning certificate and also formed and LLC with my mom. We booked three weddings in the first few months. Our first wedding was on April 16, 2016. I love everything about wedding and I love people so this job is perfect for me! Let’s Talk! Our initial contact will most likely be via email or phone. I personally prefer email so I can save all of our emails in a personal folder for each bride. I love meeting my brides in person to go over our services and pricing to see what
The first meeting: I first like hearing what you see your wedding looking like and how our services can help you make that happen. Mabry Events is a wedding planning business located in the north Georgia/Atlanta area. The business includes myself and my assistant, who happens to also be my mother. We started this business based on the first and obvious reason that weddings are our passion. From meeting with our brides, to gathering every detail of the big day, to improvising on the day of, we love it all! Our second reason for starting our own wedding planning business is to ensure that the bride, groom, and parents of the couple are able to enjoy the day, free of stress! We offer five packages that our clients can choose from based on their wants and needs. Each package differs in services and pricing. We created so many packages because we understand that some brides would like to plan some of their wedding, and there are some who just don’t know where to begin. We try to meet every need of the bride and groom and strive to ensure we are offering as many options as we can. Since we are located so close to Kennesaw State University, we have an advantage for marketing. We began gathering our business simply by word of mouth, and then moved on to create our own Facebook page. We are now working on creating our own website to make it easier for our clients to view our services and prices. We are also in the midst of creating a logo for our business cards which we plan on placing in bakeries, flower shops, bridal boutiques, and venues that allow outside coordinators. Our market right now is younger couples who are either still in college or have just graduated, this is because I am 23 so I have a lot of friends who are getting married and are recommending us to their friends. Our goals for the next year are to become certified, create and run our website, have our business cards created and handed out, and have at least two more weddings booked. Our goal for the next five years is to have a better idea of our market, how we come up with our prices, and how to best meet the expectations of our clients. We know it will take some time and experience in order to fully grasp all of the ins and outs of the business. Our ten year goal is to open our own venue. We are very excited to begin this journey of owning our own business and we make a great team! My mom is behind the scenes creating the budgets, the pricing lists, setting up our LLC and I more hands on, meeting with the brides, gathering information from
