MAAS SPRMBRINFO 0001 2018 Readiness and Test Approach
MAAS (SPRMBRINFO. 0001 2018) Readiness and Test Approach This document provides an overview of the readiness, testing and implementation approach for APRA-regulated funds and their intermediaries to support the implementation of the Member Account Attribute Service (MAAS) in 2017/18. December 2017
Member Account Attribute Service Overview The Member Account Attribute Service (MAAS), also known as the Super Member Information Service, supports the redesign of Member Contributions Statement (MCS) reporting to allow real-time reporting of member account phases and attributes, including the Lost Member Statement (LMS) functionality. MAAS facilitates Superannuation Fund interactions with the ATO for a Fund user to: • Request ATO held details of a member (Provision of Details) SPRMBRINFO. 0001. 2018. get • Notify of a new, updated, or closed member account (Maintain Member Account Attributes) - SPRMBRINFO. 0001. 2018. submit UNCLASSIFIED – MAAS Test & Implementation Strategy 2

MAAS Conformance Suite The Conformance Suite is only just sufficient for DSPs to confirm their software conforms with ATO requirements. It includes: a. Test Data (test members) b. Credentials (for submitting the request to the test environment) c. Specific scenarios requiring execution and proof of completion EVTE is a “canned” environment – there is no scope for submitting queries outside of the defined scenarios (any attempts will have undefined responses). Completing the Conformance Suite does not provide 100% test coverage for DSPs, so it is recommended that Funds exercise their own internal test cases (following, or as part of the implementation of the DSP Software in their environment) in order to satisfy yourself themselves that their implementation is successful. Fund Onboarding Readiness & Adoption MAAS is a service, similar to Super. Match 2 and Super. TICK 3, so: • ATO will be seeking confirmation from Funds of the MAAS Software Provider they’ll be using (to understand coverage and associated readiness) • ATO needs to understand the Digital Service Provider software test and release dates, as well as the implementation dates for the Funds (to understand take-up) • ATO will continuously monitor adoption in both EVTE and Production for Digital Service Providers and Funds UNCLASSIFIED – MAAS Test & Implementation Strategy 7
Whitelisting Similar to onboarding activities for existing services such as Super. Match 2 and Super. TICK 3, Digital Service Providers will need to demonstrate successful completion of the MAAS Conformance Suite prior to being whitelisted in Production. Following successful whitelisting, MAAS will be available in Production for the successful Digital Service Provider. Testing is not permitted in the Production environment. Funds will not need to be whitelisted – only the Digital Service Provider. Super. Stream Delivery will liaise with Funds to assist with meeting conformance obligations. Business Deployment Verification (BDV) As part of standard ATO deployment-proving practices, one or more Digital Service Providers may be requested to perform limited production batches in conjunction with a Fund in a highlymonitored state to prove successful deployment of all affected ATO services. More details will be shared as we get closer to the date. UNCLASSIFIED – MAAS Test & Implementation Strategy 9
