MA Hospital schools O The Massachusetts hospital school is a place that helps the needs of students age 6 -22 who have disabilities. The purpose of the hospital schools is to help the child become more independent.
Disabilities served O Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy and other neuromuscular disorders, Myelodysplasia, Traumatic Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, and congenital or acquired physically debilitating disorders. O These disorders are typically complicated by co- morbid medical conditions such as diabetes, seizure disorders, respiratory conditions, cardiac conditions and psychiatric diagnoses such as depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorders.

Bradford in 1904, “Chapter 446 was an Act to Establish the Massachusetts School and Home for Crippled and Deformed Children, " to serve as a public residential facility with hospital and school facilities available to disabled children of the Commonwealth” O In 1907 the first MA hospital school was opened up
