Instant Readings Screen CO H 2 S The M 40 will simultaneously monitor All 4 gases (O 2, LEL, CO and H 2 S) continuously. A battery life indicator is also displayed in the lower left corner. Instrument Operation Sensor Over Range Should the M 40 encounter a gas concentration above the measuring range of the sensor, the instrument will place a 1 in the left most column of the display. CO H 2 S O 2 LEL Over Range Condition LEL INDUSTRIAL SCIENTIFIC M 40 Note: To clear the over range condition on the LEL sensor, the instrument must be turned off and back on again. 13

Instrument Operation Low Battery Indication With approximately 30 minutes of run time left, the instrument will emit a beep every 10 seconds and the battery icon will be flashing. 14

SP 40 Operation For confined space entry, the SP 40 will allow the user to draw a sample of up to 50 feet SP 40 inlet Port and Filter INDUSTRIAL SCIENTIFIC SP 40 Contacts CO H 2 S O 2 LEL INDUSTRIAL SCIENTIFIC M 40 NOTE: Allow two seconds per foot of tubing and two minutes of sample draw time to obtain an accurate reading of the space. 16

SP 40 Operation If the SP 40 filter or tubing become blocked, the M 40 will go into alarm and the Pump Fault indicator will appear on the display.
