Community Outreach • July 2020 – Concept plans circulated amongst community organizations including: Arroyo Seco Foundation, West Pasadena Neighborhood Association, La Casita Foundation, Pasadena Casting Club, and Pasadena Heritage Foundation • Community group site walks hosted City staff and environmental consultant Psomas > August 3 and 20, 2020 > September 15 and 17, 2020 > October 16, 2020 3

Project Scope • Invasive plant, weed, and tree removals > Tree removals agreed upon through meetings with Community and Urban Forestry Advisory Committee (UFAC) > Select groupings of Red Gum Eucalyptus (trees 16, 17, 20, 21, 33) will remain until new plantings mature > Red Gum Eucalyptus trees 38, 40, and 103 have been removed from the project scope • Planting of approximately 2, 000 shrubs and herbaceous container plants • Planting of 14 oak trees, 3 walnut trees, and 17 western sycamore trees • Installation of irrigation system • Creation of natural rest areas using arroyo stone boulders and logs from felled trees 5

Maintenance and Monitoring During Construction: • Restoration Ecologist – Habitat design and installation monitoring by qualified specialists who are familiar with the unique ecology of the Arroyo Seco • Restoration Contractor – Site preparation, installation, and maintenance, by a qualified C-27 contractor to ensure establishment • Wildlife Biologist – Contractor activities to be monitored by qualified wildlife biologist to ensure species protections as needed Post Construction: • 5 -Year Monitoring and Maintenance Program – City will enter into contract with consultant and contractor to provide supplemental environmental services to ensure a successful project 9

Project Timeline • September 1, 2020 – Support of concept design from Recreation and Parks Commission (RPC) • September 23, 2020 – Received recommendation for plant and tree removals from Urban Forestry Advisory Committee (UFAC) • October 15, 2020 – Project advertised • November 5, 2020 – Bids received (7 total, 1 local) • November 23, 2020 – Council contract award • March 2021 – Project completion (Prop A grant reimbursement deadline) 10
