Look up, look down! This game can be played with the young people simply standing in a circle but if you need to maintain social distancing it might be helpful to use a circle of chairs. No other equipment is required. Surprisingly, this is a game that positively benefits from the wearing of masks (should you need to) and aren’t many games you can say that about! To play the game, everyone stands in a circle, looking at the ground. On a count of three, everyone looks up at the same time. They must look at the face of another person (not up in the air, not at a gap etc. ). What will happen is that some of the group will look up and lock eyes with another person. If you are a couple who lock eyes, then you are both out for this game and need to sit down. The game is repeated until everyone is out. As an example (just in case that makes no sense whatsoever!)…. Sam and Jo lock eyes in the first round so need to both sit down. Lauren and Jake were also both looking at Sam but didn’t lock eyes with him (they were more looking at the side of his face because he had locked eyes with Jo). Ryan was looking at Jo but also didn’t lock eyes with him because he had locked eyes with Sam. Jenny was safe because she was looking at Ryan (who was looking at Jo). Lizzie was safe because she was looking at Lauren (who was looking at Sam) etc. !
