All sentences have a verb. What are verbs? A verb is usually an action word and can have present/past tense. (Some verbs are not action words e. g. ‘be’ verbs - is, are, am, was were) Example: The dog barks.
Most sentences have a subject too. What are subjects? The subject performs the action. The subject is the person/thing being described. Example: The dog barks.
Identify the subjects and verbs 1. The cat jumps over the wall. 2. Yu Xin swims every Sunday. 3. Ying and Shalitha are in the same group. 4. The boys run to the canteen. 5. I believe you.
