EVALUATING THE PLAN Original Plan: According to the plan proposed by the government, a landmark(with 16 floors) would be built just near the long valley nature park. Besides, a railway station would be built such that the district would be crowded.
IMPACT IN DIFFERENT ASPECTS-ENVIRONMENTAL Loss of farmland Area of nature park is too small Only concentrate on diversity of birds but that of other species will be lowered. AN ALTERNATIVE? Conservancy Association Ng Hee Man: The government should not treat the nature park as a tourist spot but to manage the park in a way of maintaining both the agricultural and ecological aspects. Farmers should be allowed to grow crops in the park and number of visitors entering the park should be restricted so as to maintain the biodiversity.
The government may consider separating the park into different areas. -area open to public -area of conservation The entrance for area of conservation is prohibited
