Purpose ➔ ➔ ➔ Display the benefit of an application that will allow the company to monitor who uses their Innovation Garages & what materials are being used. Allow the employees to see how much space is available in the Innovation Garage which will increase productivity. Develop the asset management and material tracking from manually input to automation technology.

Project Requirements & Description PROJECT #4 - OPEN SOURCE TRACKING ● Selected by ranking the four given options of projects and additive voting system. ● Open source tracking is necessary to be implemented in workspaces where many employees are using the tools and resources. ● Automation technology insertion will increase productivity and maintain a systematic data management. Requirements: Designing an automation concept, method or instrument(s) that includes: a. automated asset management, b. material tracking, c. space utilization system.

Project Statement ➔ The Innovation Garage is currently tracked by manually inputting the amount of materials used. ➔ ➔ ➔ Then, the database and the assets are documented by manually scanning the resources into an inventory database. The process is time consuming and tedious. Hence, it will reduce the productivity of the company’s operation. In addition, the employee space utilization is not currently being tracked.

Design Method ➔ Step 1: Define the problem: Lockheed martin has no way of tracking who uses the makerspaces and what machines they are using. ➔ Step 2. Gather Information: Researched analysed the space and its equipment and the needs of client. We then looked into existing solutions for open makerspaces. However the existing solution were lacking and could be optimized to greater heights. After discussion we decided to develop an application for both smartphones and laptops as well as an automated weighing system. ➔ Step 3. Generate Multiple Solutions: Multitude of cameras and sensors within the space, setting up scales for all the materials, or develop an application that will be operated by a secluded Lockheed servers. ➔ Step 4. Analyze and Select an Optimal Solution: ◆ Scales - Single Purpose ◆ Camera/Sensors - Expensive ◆ Application - Affordable Multi-Pronged Solution ➔ Step 5. Test and Implement Solution: ◆ Does the application automate asset management, material tracking, and improve efficiency ◆ Are the scales integrated into the application and performing its specified task ➔ Step 6. Share Solution: Our best solution will be presented to the required audiences.

Procedures 1. Brainstorming ideas and solutions where we came out with two different solutions, which are as follow: a. Using cameras & light sensors ➢ Scales are assembled to the tools which will increase accuracy and precision. ➢ Require high investment of the company for equipments. b. Designing an application ➢ Includes features of asset management and material tracking. ➢ Able to show the space utilization for every employee that used the tools in Innovation Garage. 2. Combining the application and the scales that will be integrated within the application. 3. Designing a few different designs and our best design is chosen due to its comprehensibility and simplicity. 4. After getting the results, we analyzed every feature that we have developed.

Results and Discussion ➔ ➔ ➔ Allows Lockheed Martin to monitor who uses the Innovation Garages Requires employees to login with Lockheed Martin identification Paired with the personal barcode Enables maximum efficiency of the Innovation Garages Reservation System Compatible to Apple/Android/PC/MAC/LINUX

Conclusions and Recommendations ➔ ➔ The app allows Lockheed Martin to effectively monitor who uses the Innovation Garages. Improve employees experiences with them as well. This app would not cost much to create, and the extra pieces that would connect to the machines would be relatively cheap compared to a new security swipe system. Application is not just limited to Lockheed Martin can be used to make other makerspaces more efficient
