CDE FORM – LP – 4 SUGGESTED REVISIONS Review the two versions in a small group for 5 minutes
“TEMPLATE” If you’ve seen one local plan; you’ve seen ONE local plan Does the CDE expect all Local Plans to be the same in content and format? Discuss the potential issues in your SELPA if your Local Plan had to be modified to a new format with the person seated next to you.
TEMPLATE - CONTINUED Local Plan Committee Recommendation: Use LP-4 as the “template” 1. Each SELPA to cross-reference Local Plan with LP-4 to determine all required language/components are included Include page number and other reference information Submit Local Plan and Completed LP-4 to CDE to verify and acknowledge SELPA Local Plan has met requirements Benefits: Allows for autonomy in Local Plan design CDE does not have to review each Local Plan in depth to determine all required content is included Lessens risk that a Local Plan would not be approved by a governing board of a district SELPA can focus efforts on developing a meaningful Annual Assurances Support Plan
LP – 4 AS THE “TEMPLATE” OR CHECKLIST Sample Completed LP-4
IF WE AGREE…. NEXT STEPS Executive Committee to discuss with CDE staff and share the input from State SELPA members Continue to Work with CDE to refine the “Template” design with State SELPA Local Plan Committee to assist with design of process to transition to final template with input from State SELPA members.
