LATIN AMERICA (1) Brazil: • Roll-out of the National Sustainability Curriculum to key 73 partner institutions with 1, 500 trainers trained • 34 key indicators were developed within the National Platform structure and are in the process of being endorsed to measure the roll out and implementation of the NSC Contributes to Farmer Prosperity & Conservation of Natural Resources, Thriving Communities

LATIN AMERICA (2) Colombia: • Developed online training courses on soil fertilization as well as financial decision making in alignment to the GCP Baseline practices Contributes to Farmer Prosperity & Conservation of Natural Resources

LATIN AMERICA (3) Honduras: • Reaching out and aligning key stakeholders in Honduras about the process to establish a National coffee platform. AFRICA (1) Tanzania: • Regular sector stakeholder meetings of National Platform sharing progress • NSC continued improvement and broader implementation in 3 districts Contributes to Farmer Prosperity & Conservation of Natural Resources, Thriving Communities

AFRICA (2) UGANDA: • Working groups formed on Climate and Economic Viability chaired by National Platform members • District coffee extension pilot continues with improvement of content of the National Sustainability Curriculum and outspreading roll-out in the field and during district coffee shows Contributes to Farmer Prosperity & Conservation of Natural Resources, Thriving Communities

ASIA (1) Vietnam: • Agreed content for the revision of the National Sustainable Curriculum (NSC) towards climate change adaptation with partners. • Developed draft information system and tool for NSC assurance to measure the implementation of the National Sustainability Curriculum Contributes to Farmer Prosperity & Conservation of Natural Resources, Thriving Communities

ASIA (2) Indonesia: • Strengthening the National Platform (SCOPI) with member involvement on thematic task forces. • Roll out of NSC Robusta continues in more regions whilst NSC Arabica to be launched in August Contributes to Farmer Prosperity & Conservation of Natural Resources, Thriving Communities

ECONOMIC VIABILITY OF FARMING This Collective Action Network is seeking to improve the economic viability of coffee farming by increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of tailored actions and interventions. First step: Quick scan of 11 countries focuses on identifying potential actions and investments that contributes to farmer prosperity. GENDER & YOUTH The Collective Action Network on Gender & Youth works on empowering communities and helps to make coffee farming more attractive for young people. First step: Participatory development with stakeholders of a Gender Equity Engagement Guide and a Measurement Framework with Partnership for Gender Equity Next step: Convene the coffee sector to act jointly on identified priorities that contribute to thriving coffee communities. CLIMATE SMART AGRICULTURE The Collective Action Network on Climate Smart Agriculture works on enabling coffee farmers to adapt and build resilience towards climate change and its consequences. First step: Broaden industry learning and strategic uptake on CSA. COUNTRY ANNUAL PLANNING 2018 Planning for 2018 work in countries is in progress, in collaboration with Country Platform stakeholders. GCP members are involved locally through representatives and will be able to participate globally in September via a series of webinars, and October during Membership Assembly. This is a chance for GCP members to get involved on country level and support national platforms in a meaningful way.
